IVYPO COMMITTEES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Chair: Sherry Picazo-Cowie The Professional Development Committee plans and executes quarterly "Grinders" bringing guest speakers from around the area to discuss a wide range of topics dedicated to enhancing the YPO’s professional resources and furthering our membership's professional education. The programs planned by the committee help connect YPO members with leaders in the Imperial Valley in order to encourage the development of new relationships and partnerships. MEMBERSHIP & COMMUNICATIONS Chair: Melissa M. Lopez The Membership & Communications Committee is in charge of recruiting, retaining and reaching YPO members. The committee welcomes new members into the organization and hosts our membership drives and orientations. As a committee we promote YPO and Chamber events as well as other important civic and local initiatives to help our members be engaged in the community. In supporting our aim to stay in touch with our members and provide valuable content and resources, this committee creates all external YPO communications: print ads, e-blasts, e-newsletters, event calendars, and promotional materials. We are also responsible for establishing partnerships and relationships with media outlets and maintaining the content of the website www.ivypo.com. SPONSORSHIP & EVENTS Chair: Ashley Bertussi
The Sponsorship & Events Committee is responsible for building relationships and a base of great companies and organizations that would be interested in supporting YPO’s endeavors financially as well as providing attractive benefits to our members. Committee members will also find event-specific sponsors to improve the overall quality of our regular "Blenders" (monthly afterhours), planned special events and other fun activities. Our committee works hard to share reasons why it is beneficial to both the employer and the employee to be involved in the organization. We share our YPO values and create personal value for our members and supporting businesses.
